Go See the Pictures!

Image
I have nothing to say except these few sentences. THE HALL IS BEAUTIFUL! WE ARE VERY TIRED, YET VERY THANKFUL! TODAY I WAS PRIVILEGED TO INTERPRET THE FIRST MEETING AT THE FIRST KINGDOM HALL EVER BUILT IN SUPERIOR! I HAVE THE BEST, HARDWORKING FAMILY IN THE WORLD -LITERALLY & SPIRITUALLY! GO LOOK AT THE PICTURES ON DROPSHOTS! Good night - Lynetta

Bricks, Bricks Everywhere!

Image
With the roof completed, the drywallers are working inside, the masons are working outside and everything is coming together on schedule! We had one brother fall off the scaffold today, but he is alright. He got a broken collar bone and some bumps and bruises but he will be just fine! Two brothers stayed overnight at our place last night and I never saw them! They came in 45 minutes before I got home and left for the site this morning before I woke up! They're coming back tonight and I'll miss them again as I'm heading to take a nap after this post. Carolyn & I will head back out to the site at about 11:30PM to reheat food for the 20 or so friends who are doing texturing work on the ceilings. They expect to be done between midnight and 1AM. They ALWAYS work this shift on all projects and NEVER get to mingle with the friends, chat and enjoy a good meal. They're usually stuck with pizza. James and Jonathan had a great time working in food service with the Sell famil

A Couple Eager Workers!

Image
As you look to the back of this picture, you'll see James and Jonathan patiently waiting for their first assignment from Brother Tim Sell, the head cook on the project. Although they aren't yet 16, Tim's daughter Alyssa told me yesterday that they could work in food service if they had a sponsor. Tim (who's staying with Cecelia and Jason) gladly took on a couple new recruits! The building itself is going up fast and looking so nice! Roofing appeared to be completed when I was at the site this morning and I'm assuming that masonry will have begun before I get back there this afternoon. Enjoy the pictures on Dropshots! Lynetta

The Final Truss

Image
Hi all, WOW! WOW! WOW! Here is the final truss being set into place already! All of the tradesmen & women were excited to see this as it signaled they could get back inside the structure to work! They didn't work for long though as a wonderful meal of ribs, corn on the cob & coleslaw was served a bit after 5:30. After a meal, some cookies & conversation THEN it was back to work. There isn't much I can say about the project itself except that there is no way to describe what happens here in words. It is clearly the bond of love & friendship in conjunction with Holy Spirit that moves this along. Enjoy the MANY pictures I've posted on Dropshots and look for more in the coming days! Lynetta

Taking Shape!

Image
Noah and I just took a quick trip out to the building site and WOW! Things are moving right along. Walls are up and they were starting on trusses. I wish I could've stayed to help & take pictures, but I had to bring Noah home as no one under the age of 16 can be on the site due to insurance rules. I have someone coming to look at the house on Weeks at 3:15 as well, so I had to come back home. I'll make my way back after the house showing. Anyhow, just put 32 pictures over on Dropshots of the work thus far today. Mind you, as of early this morning there were no walls, just a slab. Will update again tonight! Lynetta

Yeah, I've been lax...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Too many things going on and not enough time. We had a wonderful trip to Rochester August 8-10 and attended the Guided by God's Spirit District Convention as a family. I've posted a segment of the drama on the Dropshots page for those of you who would like to see it. I can't remember the exact attendance numbers but it was somewhere in the 4000 neighborhood. I could go look at my notes, but does it really matter?? :) In addition, 39 were baptized. I've been working fast and furious on my Typewell training and take my comprehensive skills exam tomorrow! After that, only 2 more lessons and I'm done. At least I'll know right away if I passed. I'm still waiting for my National Interpreter Certifcation results from the test I took in June! Most exciting at this point now is the KINGDOM HALL BUILDING! So much has happened since I posted pictures last. While I was in Dallas, the garage was built and the 1st layer o
