The Big City:Day 2
As Told By Jonathan (aka Mojo)
Today, we took the subway to New York City. Then we went to the Tick Tock Diner. I got a huge breakfast burrito with potatoes and orange juice. After we were finished, we walked to B&H (electronics store) to refund dads money because yesterday he bought a new lense for his camcorder but it was fuzzy. Also, James bought a new battery for his camera. next, we went to the pier and bought our tickets for the sightseeing speed boat named The Beast. It went 50 mph. The drivers name was Mad Dog and the attendant/tour guide was Crazy Horse. After 15 minutes, we stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty and took pictures. The whole boat ride, Crazy Horse took out water balloons ans water guns and sprayed the people that he liked as well as some of the people that he didn't like. Anyways, we had fun. Then, we went to Subway. James and I had a turkey sub, dad and Noah had a ham & turkey sub, and mom had a meatball marinara sub. After that, we went on the NBC Studio's tour. First, we watched a brief video about the history of the Today Show. Second, we crammed into 2 elevators and went up to floor 9. Then, we toured the SNL ( Saturday Night Live) studio and the guide told us a little history about it. Next, the guide asked for 2 volunteers for the next part of the tour. One of them was the news anchor and the other one was the meteorologist. They did well. If I had volunteered, I would have died from nervousness. that concluded the tour. Then we planned on going to the Bronx Zoo. When we got to uhhh, what was it......? Oh yeh. When we got to 79th street, mom told us that the zoo closed in less than an hour. When we got to 172nd street, we looked at the booklet that mom had and we discovered that the zoo had closed already so mom apoligized to us because we had really wanted to go. When we got back to Manhattan, we ate at Ruby Tuesday's. I had a Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries and a Coke. The food was great!!! The service was great!!! This Tuesday's was definetely better than the one in South Dakota. When we were done eating, we walked back to Penn station to get on the subway. While we walked, we went passed a little store. We went in a bought 5 meeting shirts and 3 ties. Then ,when we got on the subway, mom discoverd that she had only bought 4 tickets instead of 5. So she quckly ran back and bought another ticket. Then we took the subway to New Jersey. When we got off, we took the airtrain to station P4. When we sat down on our hotel shuttle, mom looked down and noticed that the little palm tree one her necklace was gone. So she and Noah retraced their steps and after about 15 seconds, Noah found it. We went back to our hotel, swam for an hour, and are now watching tv until we go to bed. That was my story of the day. Hope you enjoyed it. Bye.

Harold and I are doing fine with Hershey and Ming. A Culvers salad was enjoyed by all including Hershey and Ming in that I bought a morsel of chicken home to them.
We've got to goto OCB, Godfaters and Culvers but I still enjoy the more I think palatable variety at OCB and have been eating pretty good but look forward to you safe return the good meals that aren't available other wise.
Continue enjoying and be careful and I know how Shawn felt especially on the Subway system at night after the 58 big international assembly where I saw men and women sleeping in doorways with the barred windows. Made me think if the establishment didn't feel safe without the bars how safe were the vagrants (as they were called back then) in a doorway sleeping in a total unconscious state.
Be careful and see you all when you return, HI!! to everyone glad you're all having such a good time.
Lots of love and wishing you more fun! Johnnie & Lois
