So Much to See!
Yesterday was another very busy day! So busy that I neglected to blog and instead opted for a soak in the hot tub. But anyway, here's how our day went -
We liked the Tick Tock Diner so much on Thursday that we decided to have breakfast there again. The boys were once again filled with their massive breakfast burritos! We then got back on the subway and headed up to the American Museum of Natural History on 81st Street & Central Park West.
The museum was incredible!! There was so much to see and read and learn and yet there was so little time and so many school field trip groups and so much noise! We opted to pick and choose what to see based on the map. Not the way I'd like to see a museum, but the best we could do. We saw the dinosaurs, fossils, etc on 4th floor. Sadly, everything had a strong evolutionary theme and it made me realize that the boys should probably read the Creation book when we get home. Nevertheless, it was very cool to see. We also saw the African animals exhibit, the minerals exhibit and the gems exhibit. My rock collecting boys loved that!!
Next we boarded the subway and went over to Sony Labs on Madison Avenue. Two of their four floors are being updated, so there wasn't much to see. There were a few interactive things - build your own video game, make a movie trailer, etc. and of course Playstation 3 games to play.
Back in the subway again, this time on our way to Chinatown. James and Jonathan were very excited to buy a gift for their friend Alex who is Chinese-American. They got a really neat gift that I'm sure he'll like. It was fun to see the outdoor markets for fruit, flowers and seafood. The boys also thought it was cool to see a McDonalds sign in Chinese.
Right next door to Chinatown is Little Italy. We visited there too and decided to have dinner at Caffe Sorrento. Wow - authentic, heavy, butter, cream, cheese rich Italian food. Oh, I could live in Little Italy! :)
Heading back to Newark, we met a number of Spanish speaking brothers and sisters in the subway tunnels returning from the convention. It was nice to see them looking so happy and they were surprised to hear someone ask "Did you enjoy the convention today?"
We got back to the hotel, sat in the hot tub for awhile, ordered a real Brooklyn style pizza and crashed until this morning.
We head out back home this afternoon.
See you soon!
Love,
Us

The critters (Hershey, Ming and Baby) are doing fine, except for Baby's occasional prancing across the floor in pursuit of the ficticous? dream of an imaginable threat to his life is hardly noticeable but that way I know he’s still around.
Today was my second day alone in that Harold left Thursday. I sure enjoyed the company however he mentioned a couple of times that Ming’s barking at whatever moves outside got on his nerves.
Yesterday it sprinkled a little making for a long dry spell (one day). On second thought I think the ground got briefly wet the day before though (that shots that thought) it was dry most of the day. If one doesn’t like the weather (Superior) stick around for five minutes it’ll change.
This might sound like a blog of my own but a technologyable (if that’s a word) way of letting you know of things here. O K ! ! Looking for all your safe return to hear the enthused voices.
